When I Get to Prison (WIGTP) is a nonprofit platform built by incarcerated individuals—for incarcerated individuals. It’s a digital space where voices that are often silenced can finally be heard. WIG2P helps people in jails and prisons take meaningful steps toward rehabilitation by offering a place to:

This site exists to prove that change is possible regardless of our situation. We believe in taking action, we believe in transformation, and we believe that every story needs to be told.
When I Get to Prison (WIGTP) was born inside a county jail by someone who refused to wait for prison to start changing. It’s a platform built by and for incarcerated individuals to share their stories, reflect through reading, and take real steps toward rehabilitation—right now.
Our mission is simple: empower growth from the inside out.
Through book reports, articles, and personal profiles, WIGTP gives incarcerated individuals the space to document their journey and inspire others to change.
We believe that books can transform, stories can heal, and everyone deserves the chance to be seen beyond their past.
